We built an agentic assistant that connects product knowledge, specialist workflows, and human review in one shared platform. Product managers work through Microsoft Teams to turn approved epics into structured stories, with the context and controls needed to move the work into Jira.

01

From scattered context to a shared workflow

Moving from an epic to a useful backlog means finding product context, identifying dependencies, drafting acceptance criteria, and resolving open questions. The assistant brings those steps into a coordinated workflow, with product managers retaining responsibility for what is accepted and created.

02

One orchestrator, connected to the team

Microsoft Teams gives the team a familiar place to request work, answer questions, and review results. A central orchestrator gathers authorized product references and historical Jira context, selects the right agents, and manages each run. It pauses when a person needs to clarify a requirement or make a decision, then resumes with their input.

03

Epic-to-Stories, with review built in

The assistant drafts story descriptions, maps acceptance criteria to the epic, and identifies indicative sizes, dependencies, and unresolved questions. Product owners review the complete story set, make edits, or request another pass. The workflow writes to Jira only after approval, then returns the created links and records the write results.

04

A platform the team can build on

The shared Azure platform brings identity, scoped connectors, versioned skills, workflow state, and operating visibility together. Product templates and guidance remain reusable across runs. The same architecture supports extension into epic drafting, customer signal analysis, and grooming support, with web chat and Microsoft 365 Copilot as additional channel paths.

05

Control and visibility through the workflow

Run history and audit records make decisions and system actions traceable. Quality checks, acceptance-criteria coverage, review feedback, and cost visibility give the team a practical basis for improving the workflow. Human approval remains a system boundary before external writes.

06

Built around product judgment

The implemented assistant connects the team’s knowledge to the tools where product work happens. Agents prepare and check the work; product managers, product owners, and engineering retain the judgment that shapes the backlog. A shared platform makes that division of responsibility repeatable.
